Mono ethylene glycol (MEG) is a type of polyether alcohol that is used in many chemical industries. This substance is used as one of the most important raw materials in the production of polyester, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), paints, resins, antifreezes and other chemicals. MEG is also used as an antifreeze in car cooling water and other thermal devices.

Ethylene glycols are the largest group of glycols. Monoethylene with the abbreviation MEG, diethylene with the abbreviation DEG and triethylene with the abbreviation TEG. All of them are liquid, toxic and have a very low freezing point.
